‘STRENGTH IN UNITY’: UNIV OFFICIAL, ORG HAIL ANNUAL CSID AS ‘SUCCESS’ CRCY PREXY NOTED FEWER CASUALTIES COMPARED TO LAST YEAR

CRCY prexy noted fewer casualties compared to last year

"This time-tested event has proven its worth. It stands as a testament to our university's unwavering commitment to unity and community outreach," these were the words uttered by the Dean of Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT) C/M Virmari S. Tan, Ph.D. during an interview with The Dolphin.

C/M Tan also acknowledged the physical demands of the day but emphasized the greater purpose served by Community Service and Inception Day (CSID) 2023, particularly in combating the adverse effects of litter through a university-wide coastal cleanup initiative.

The CSID is a day where both service and the initiation of new students in this university are celebrated and marked with various activities and traditions.

Meanwhile, President of College Red Cross Youth (CRCY) Iloilo Mdpn. Anthony S. Galusong reported a noteworthy improvement in the medical aspect, stating, "compared to last year, we recorded fewer casualties."

He attributed this decline in incidents, including fainting, bruises, and other medical-related issues, to the "streamlined" obstacle drills, which were more accommodating for participants.
