PEER FACILITATING PROGRAM REVIVED AFTER YEARS OF HIATUS

By: Mdpn. John Francis Babiera

After a long hiatus, the Peer Facilitating Program made an epic comeback through a Leadership Training and Seminar Workshop at the JBL Hall, on Friday, January 19.

The event aimed to hone the capabilities of 24 ardent individuals aspiring to assume roles as peer facilitators under Mr. Bernabe A. Basbas, who has accepted to take again the role of coordinator.

Mrs. Paige June H. Pagara, a Registered Guidance Counselor (RGC) and a faculty member of WVSU-Calinog Campus graced the occasion as the guest speaker.

"Since program is said to be "reborn," first things first, organize the systematic implementation again of the program, be it known to all studentry, strengthen relationship among other students and relive the feeling and thoughts among Lacsonians that the program is there and are all ready to serve and help," said Mr. Basbas during the program.

The seminar tackled lectures such as counseling techniques, counseling peers, and leadership — skills which will help the aspiring peer facilitators in their following endeavors.
