DR. SARINAS AMONG RECIPIENTS OF 5TH METROBANK FOUNDATION AWARD FOR CONTINUING EXCELLENCE AND SERVICE

Dr. Brian Gil S. Sarinas has been recognized as one of this year's recipients of the prestigious 5th Metrobank Foundation Award for Continuing Excellence and Service (ACES).

The said award is limited to a few Filipino former Metrobank scholars and awardees, with a total of 32 in this year's batch.

Currently serving as the Research Coordinator of John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo), Inc., Dr. Sarinas was a Metrobank scholar in 2004. He received the award at the Marquis Events Place in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City last February 29.

With an impressive portfolio, Dr. Sarinas has presented his research findings at international, national, regional, and local conferences, in addition to publishing 35 scientific papers in  journals such as Clarivate Analytics and Elsevier Scopus.

His research mostly focus on a wide range of topics, including fungi in oil-polluted environments, wastewater effluents, heavy metals in the marine environment, and the likes.

The Metrobank Foundation, Inc. (MBFI) gave Dr. Sarinas a plaque and the "Spiral Medallion," an art  crafted by Roberto Feleo who was a 1984 Metrobank Foundation National Painting Competition Awardee.

"This award is dedicated to our Lord, family, and to the whole JBLFMU Community most especially to Capt. Alfred G. Espinosa, Dr. Ronald Raymond L. Sebastian, and Dr. Mary Lou L. Arcelo," Dr. Sarinas said in an interview with the Dolphin.

Moreover, the ACES is given to "exceptional men and women who have consistently adhered to the highest standards of performance and conduct of duty and demonstrated continued excellence in the performance of their respective professions."
