ANCHOR’S AWAY

From a young boy foraging for crabs along the shores of Nueva Valencia, Guimaras, to becoming a distinguished figure in Philippine maritime education, Captain Alfred G. Espinosa, Ph.D., has journeyed a path marked by dedication and excellence.

For more than two decades, Captain Espinosa’s experience and expertise at sea inspired him to hone the next generation of seafarers at his mother campus John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo), Inc. He served as the university's Administrator for six years — a selfless service to the Lacsonian community.

During his term, he had notable contributions to the maritime industry, being elected as the Associate Fellow of The Nautical Institute and passing the MARINA Harbor Pilot Examination, proving that passion, knowledge, and leadership should be our core to attain excellence.

“The cycle of my teaching-seafaring life motivated me to continue serving my Alma Mater. The value of sharing my experience and knowledge with the young students and seafarers alike makes inner self-fulfillment. Seeing their success in contributing to the safe transportation of goods around the world is also a matter of achievement," Capt. Espinosa shared.

Thank you, Sir Capt. Alfred G. Espinosa, for your dedication and inspiring service. As you embark on your next chapter, the Dolphin publication wishes you success and fulfillment in all your future endeavors.
