Seven hundred fourteen new students of John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo) Inc., witnessed the commencement of Pang-Abi-Abi 2024 at the university gymnasium, August 5.
A total of 412 of these attendees were from bridging classes, 217 new enrollees from grade 11, and 31 Bachelor of Science in Criminology (BSCrim).
Mr. Robert O. Parcia, MSMM, Administrator of this university, C/M Virmari S. Tan, Ph.D., Dean of the BSMT Department and Director for International Relations of JBLFMU System, and PBGen. June Jamolo (Ret.), Dean of BSCrim Department, welcomed the students for the Academic Year 2024-2025.
The guest speaker for this year and an alumna of this university, D/C Kezia Camille Tenefrancia, gave an inspiring message for the future seafarers highlighting that, persistence in maritime profession is the most needed lesson to learn.
Moreover, freshmen from different departments familiarized the university grounds by a tour ushered by the Student Executive Council (SEC), and the 802nd Naval Reserve Officer's Training Corps Unit (NROTCU) JBLFMU-Arevalo.
The event concluded with the introduction and registration of various clubs and organizations within university grounds.
Pang-Abi-Abi is a yearly program prepared solely to welcome the students of this university.
