JBLFMU-Arevalo upholds its tradition of excellence with a 100% passing rate from its 320 Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT) students who took the MSAP exam last May 17.

MSAP is an annual uniform written examination initiated by the Philippine-Japan Manning Consultative Council (PJMCC), as the principal organization, for students enrolled in maritime educational facilities in the Philippines.

Since 2007, PJMCC has conducted this test for college students taking up BSMT and Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering (BS MarE) to test their achievement, aptitude, and technical examinations; assessing the performance of BSMT and BS MarE students presently enrolled in maritime schools in the Philippines via a standard academic test that covers English, Mathematics, Science, and fundamental Deck/Engine Technical subjects.

The program is supported by the International Mariners Management Association of Japan (IMMAJ) in Tokyo, Japan, and is implemented by the Manila-based PJMCC.
