Soaked in mud, tired knees with scratches on their elbows, and basked in the sun, first-year students of John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo), Inc. persist despite the grimace they encounter during their obstacles.

The drill is part of the requirements of the Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT) and Bachelor of Science in Criminology (BSCRIM) 1 students of the university to don their shoulder boards and, in a few weeks, the right to wear their summer white uniforms and be called Midshipmen and Midshipwomen.
