Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC) Blood Bank spearheaded and facilitated Bloodletting and Donation Activity, through a collaborative effort with John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo), Inc. Medical Health Services headed by Dr. Cynthia Baleña at JBL Hall, September 10.
A total of 235 blood donors were screened for collection of safe blood and 185 of them passed the screening process and proceeded to blood-draw.
In addition, it is the 25th annual bloodletting activity of the university which the Rotary Club Iloilo joined for its first participation as facilitator of the activity.
Furthermore, Rotary Club Iloilo also joined this initiative in delivering bloodletting services in the university.
The collected blood will be stored at WVMC Blood Bank for easy-access when needed by the donors’ dependents.
