Mdpwn. Ciara B. Ramos brought medals and pride as she successfully clinched one gold and one bronze medal at the OARtoberfest International Dragon Boat Race 2024 held in Boracay, Malay, Aklan last October 26-27.
Mdpwn. Ramos is a member of the Komodo Dragon Boat Club (KDBC), an organization in John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo), Inc., and together with her seven fellow club members, they represented the Iloilo Paddlers Club in the said tournament.
The two-day event was participated by six teams namely: Rampage Manila, Taiwan-Japan, Boracay Allstars, Boracay DragonForce, Shangri-la Flying Foxes and their team, Iloilo Paddlers Club.
This was the first time the second-year Bachelor of Science in Criminology student participated in an international Dragon Boat Tournament, but she was able to exceed everyone's expectations.
She participated in two categories during the tournament, first is the Mixed Standard Boat where they won a bronze medal and finished the two-round race with a total time of two minutes and 10 seconds.
The second category that she joined was the Women Small Boat, which led her and her team a shimmering gold medal after outlasting their opponents, with a total accumulated time of two minutes and 25 seconds within two rounds.
With this spectacular debut performance in the tournament scene, Mdpwn. Ramos had proven to herself that she can win anything, with great determination, and preparation.
As of now, Mdpwn. Ramos and is consistently putting the work, night in and night out, to condition herself for some future tournaments.
