C/M Virmari S. Tan, Ph.D., Director for International Relations, was invited to the International Industrial Talents Education (INTENSE) program, as John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo), Inc. (JBLFMU-A) aims to foster international connections, held at Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) last October 26.
The event kicked off with the welcoming remarks from ISAT U’s President, Dr. Gabriel M. Salistre, Jr., followed by a video message from President of Cheng Shiu University, Dr. Jui-Chang Kung, and a message from Dr. Shuenn-Ren Cheng, Vice President of Cheng Shiu University.
The program properly discussed the INTENSE program of Taiwan-Philippines, an initiative by the Ministry of Education (R.O.C.) and the National Development Council of Taiwan that aims to encourage more excellent international talents.
Shortly after, the universities and their programs were introduced: Kun Shan University, Cheng Shiu University, Mingshin University of Science and Technology, Taiwan Steel University of Science and Technology, and I-Shou University.
The event concluded with a question and answer, and an open discussion among the participants.
This was after they conducted a visit and benchmarking activity at ISAT U last October 22.
