Proving his excellence as a researcher once more, Engr. Roderick R. Germo, Ph.D., Unit Research Coordinator, was recently hailed as a referee for the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU) research projects on January 14, 2025.

Endorsed by Capt. Luis G. Evidente, Engr. Germo applied for the position to further contribute to the field of maritime research.

Initially established in 2018 with over 150 referees from member universities worldwide, the IAMU, supported by The Nippon Foundation, has been appointing referees to enhance the quality of their research evaluation based on several factors, including a nomination from the universityโ€™s president or representative and exceptional academic credentials.

โ€œIt is a privilege to contribute to shaping the future of maritime education and research globally. I hope this inspires fellow educators and researchers at JBLFMU to continue striving for excellence in their fields,โ€ Engr. Germo quoted upon reflecting on his achievement.

"This opportunity would not have been possible without the support of JBLFMU, Capt. Luis G. Evidente and Mr. Robert O. Parcia, and the entire university community. I am deeply grateful for their trust and encouragement throughout my academic journey,โ€ he added.
