Komodo Dragon Boat Club (KDBC) lurked and shackled a strong third runner-up podium finish in the two dragon boat categories of LOVEBoracay International Dragon Boat Festival 2025 held last April 25-28 at Boracay, Aklan.

They joined the Iloilo Paddlers Club to represent the whole city of Iloilo in the international dragon boat stage, and together, they went toe-to-toe against the other 34 international-based teams.

In the Premier Open Standard Boat category, seven Lacsonians, namely, Mdpn. Dylan O. Cabras, Mdpn. Edilberto A. Amo III, Mdpn. Jedro D. Mirasol, Mdpn. Kenth Dave B. Zaulda, Mdpn. Laurence M. Cortel, Mdpn. Levi S. Yangco, and Mdpn. Niel Khysen V. Cabildo clinched the third runner-up slot with a paddling time of 0:50.42.ย

On the other hand, the Premier Women Small Boat category, represented by Mdpwn. Aivee Xianelle G. Baรฑares, and Mdpwn. Ciara B. Ramos, also garnered the 3rd runner-up spot with a paddling time of 1:05.62.

However, in the Premier Mix Standard Boat category, the group failed to put themselves in the podium.

Even if they fell short in one of the three categories of the tournament, they still paddled their way through in the said international competitionโ€”done in a Lacsonian way.
