Six students from John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo), Inc. topped the "Run for Positive Change 2025" Iloilo leg last May 1.

The fundraising event, organized by JCI Regatta, drew over 1,000 participants from various organizations and educational institutions, all united to support the projects aligned with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

In the 10 KM category, known as the "SGD Trailblazer," the following students secured four of the top ten finishers:

1st place - Mpdn. John Joseph Tubid

2nd place - Mdpn. Paul Joshua Silao

3rd place - Mdpn. Renz Robert Roselio

6th place - Mdpn. June Micer Ilalto

In addition, the university's dominance continued in the 5 KM "SGD Advocate & Explorer" category clinching:

2nd place - Mdpn. Joshua Carl Barrosa

3rd place - Mdpn. Eduardo R Centino

Runners from various organizations and institutions such as Western Institute University, University of San Agustin, Central Philippine University, etc., also participated in the said event.

All in all, the participants competed across three distance categories: 10KM (SGD Trailblazer), 5KM (SGD Advocate & Explorer), and 3KM (SGD Rookie).
