Midshipman Jeson Madronero Jr., a native of Guimbalโtown of the rising sun and sons, was recently awarded as The Outstanding Student Leaders of Iloilo Awards (TOSIA) 2025's Top Circle of Five and TOSIA Scholar last May 24 at Robinsons Place Iloilo.
The third-year graduating student of this university stated how his support system influenced him to achieve this childhood dream at eight years old in a Facebook post last Sunday.
"Back then, it felt like a dream too far. But today, I hold that dream not as a trophy, but as a responsibilityโa call to make a lasting impact, made real not by my strength alone, but by the people who stood beside me, believed in me, and carried me forward," he expressed.ย ย ย
In addition, Mdpn. Madronero anchored hisย journey towards a kinaray-a word "Gaud," which means oars, highlighting that "just as rowers propel their vessel, it aligns also your actions with a purpose that serves others and the community drives collective progress."
TOSIA is a flagship project conducted by the Junior Chamber Institute Regatta which gives due honor and credit to Ilonggo student from junior high school to college who embody its four pillars: academic excellence, leadership, community involvement, and faith.
Notably, Mdpn. Madronero is known as a student leaderโcurrently serving as Vice President of the Student Executive Council. He is also one of the Top 15 Jose Rizal Model Students of the Philippines awardee and a System Model Cadet first-runner up.
