With the goal of strengthening ties with international institutions, C/M Virmari S. Tan, Ph.D., OIC-Director for International Relations of JBLFMU, together with 2/M Aldin Turija, John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo), Inc.'s Unit Internationalization Relations Coordinator, participated in the International Educational Fair 2025 last Friday, July 11.
Organized by the Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U), the event sought to uncover new opportunities for collaboration and partnership among Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) worldwide.
In addition, the fair featured participation from two universities from Indonesia, one from Cambodia, one from Taiwan, as well as over 20 HEIs of the country, all convening on the eventโs final day.
A keynote speech by a CHED representative highlighted the vital role of mutual support and cooperation among Philippine HEIs, that they should help one another to enhance educational standards across the country.
During the event, 2/M Turija actively engaged with delegates from numerous global universities, exploring potential partnerships such as student and faculty exchanges, cultural programs, and other collaborative initiatives, promising mutual benefits between universities.
Notably, the event was part of Iloilo Science and Technology University's International Week and aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)โspecifically SDG 17, Partnership for the Goals, and SDG 4, Quality Education.
