The poems of 3/O John Michael Londres and 2/O Elijah Jose Barrios stood out among the 175 entries in the Peter Solis Nery's Prize for Love Poetry 2025.
3/O Londres, who was The Dolphin's former Managing Editor, and more recently, Palanca Awardee, successfully clinched the second prize with his poem entitled, โNag-aanyong Tubig.โ The poem garnered two first place votes and two second place votes from eight well-respected juries.
Meanwhile, 2/O Elijah Jose Barrios' poem entitled โGinpalangga Ko Ikaw sa Pito ka Distritoโ, was included among the poems shortlisted into the final eight entries.
Other remarkable winners from the said poetry contest are Emersan D. Baldemor's โLihim, Luma, Ligaligโ who garnered first prize and Francisco Arias Monteseรฑa's โWalang Dapat Itanongโ and Rowell Ulang's โIlang Tanong sa Lumisanโ which both garnered third prize.
Peterโs Prize for Love Poetry is a poetry contest that focuses on the theme of love and was founded by the renowned Ilonggo author, fictionist, filmmaker, playwright, and poet, Peter Solis Nery.
