The Student Executive Council (SEC) of the College of Maritime Education (CME) conducted the first Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT) Day in line with the celebration of Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Maritime Month (MANAMo) at JBL Covered Court today.
Students, as well as the faculty and staff of JBLFMU-Arevalo from the BSMT department, attended the event.
Unit administrator Mr. Robert O. Parcia, MSMM, gave a welcoming message, while Capt. Nestor L. Baluya, the Dean of the BSMT Department formally opened the event.
This was immediately followed by the Parade of Discipline as the first competition in the morning, with the simultaneous showcase of the sayawitan, and maritime roleplay thereafter. In the afternoon, the arts events and maritime brigade olympics were held.
This program aligns with the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: Quality Education (SDG 4); Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8); Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (SDG 16); and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).
