United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG) advocates visited John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo), Inc. last November 12 to conduct a workshop on sustainability.
Ms. Lyza Belle A. Legura, UNEVOC Focal Person, and Ms. Dessa N. Quinto, International Rankings and Accreditation Officer of Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U), was invited by the program initiators from the unit Internationalization Relations Office and partner organizations: Polaris Class Organization and Reader's Partner Organization.
Soon after, Ms. Legura outlined the significance of UNSDG and introduced the "SDG Game" inspired by a Japanese designed game which allowed the players to experience the world by 2030. Employees and student leaders alike from the Senior High School Department, College of Maritime Education, and College of Criminal Justice Education participated in the game.
After the game, Ms. Quinto immediately taught the attendees on how to plan impactful UNSDG projects and made them brainstorm a project title and corresponding objectives.
Themed, "Lacsonian Leaders: Vanguards of Global Sustainability," this event aligns with the following UNSDG Goals: Quality Education (SDG 4) and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).
