Ma'am Mary Lou, President Emeritus and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (JBLFMU), was bestowed one of the highest distinctions of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), naming her the Captain of the Industry Awardee for Education during the 120th year of the Iloilo Chamber Movement at the Iloilo Convention Center, December 8.

Her commitment to elevating JBLFMU into a premier institution has shaped countless maritime professionals in the country, underscoring the honor she had achieved.

Anchored on the theme "Honoring the Past. Shaping the Future," the event recognized 15 Ilonggos who had contributed to the economic landscape of Iloilo.
