Today, the College of Maritime Education at JBLFMU-Molo hosted a research colloquium in the Audio Visual Room (AVR), highlighting the exceptional research and innovation of its Marine Engineering students.
The event featured both paper and poster presentations, demonstrating the institution's unwavering commitment to academic excellence and cutting-edge research.
Mdpn. Lance L. Quisto's paper, titled “Correlation Between Technological Awareness and Academic Performance Among Freshmen Maritime Students,” secured first place in the paper presentation category. Dr. Rolando A. Alimen served as the adviser for this award-winning research.
In the poster presentation category, Mdpn. RV John Fortaleza's work, "Challenges and Adaptation Strategies of the College of Maritime Education Instructors in the New Normal," took first place, with guidance from adviser Dr. Elsie F. Gancia.
The colloquium also featured a significant project site visit. Dr. Rex C. Casiple from CHED Region 6 attended the inspection of the Marine Sewage Treatment Plant for Domestic Vessels, a project spearheaded by Dr. Rolando Alimen, Dr. Victor Jaleco, Dr. Agustin D. Bedia, 3/E Ernie Jay A. Teves, 3/E Allan A. Roberto, and 3/E Nerios S. Cortejo. This initiative underscores the institution's dedication to advancing maritime technology and promoting environmental sustainability.
