In a strategic move to bolster its internationalization agenda, John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (JBLFMU) embarked on a benchmarking visit to
Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) last Tuesday, October 22, 2024.

Hosted by ISAT U’s Vice President of External Affairs, Dr. Nemia Mabacquiao, the visit provided an invaluable sharing of ISAT U of their best practices in internationalization.

The ISAT U team, including national and international coordinator of College of Industrial Technology, Ms. Angeline Basco, Marketing and Communications Officer Ms. Jieza Napone, and UNEVOC Focal Person Ms. Lyza Belle Lagura, shared key strategies for fostering cross-border partnerships and enhancing global outreach.

JBLFMU’s delegation, led by Dr. Virmari Tan from the International Relations Office, along with coordinators Dr. Louise May Lim, 2/M Aldin Turija, MMM and Mr. Jun Montano, expressed their dedication to strengthening the university’s global education programs.

The exchange emphasized the importance of collaboration among regional higher education institutions to achieve internationalization goals.

Both universities are optimistic that this partnership will open doors to future joint initiatives, global research opportunities, and exchange programs, contributing to the overall advancement of education in the region. This initiative underscores JBLFMU’s commitment to fostering a globally competitive academic environment for its students and faculty.
