Demonstrating its commitment to safety and disaster preparedness, John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (JBLFMU), Arevalo, Inc. actively participated in the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill, bringing together students, faculty, and staff in a coordinated emergency preparedness exercise.
The drill aimed to strengthen the university community's awareness and readiness in responding to earthquake-related emergencies. Participants practiced the standard "Duck, Cover, and Hold" procedure, followed by an orderly evacuation to designated safe areas within the campus.
The activity served as an opportunity for members of the university to familiarize themselves with emergency protocols and evacuation routes, ensuring that they are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond effectively during actual disaster situations.
Through its participation in the nationwide initiative, JBLFMU Arevalo reaffirmed the importance of disaster risk reduction and management in fostering a safe and resilient learning environment. The exercise also highlighted the value of preparedness, coordination, and discipline in minimizing risks during emergencies.
