The Department of Health-Treatment and Rehabilitation Center Pototan (DOH-TRCP) holds a Drug Awareness Orientation for John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University-Arevalo, Inc. students last October 25.

Spearheaded by the Students Affairs and Services (SAS) Office, the session was attended by selected Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT) and Bachelor of Science in Criminology (BSCrim) students.

Staffs from DOH-TRC Pototan headed by Theresa Vargas Castañeda, MD, together with Mary Francyne D. Castroverde, RPm, and Michael Francis A. Dalipe, RN, provided lectures about substance abuse, effects of drugs, reasons leading to drug addiction, prevention and rehabilitation.

Students’ concerns and questions regarding the lecture were accommodated later in the program after the thorough discussions of the speakers.
