UNIVERSITY NEWS | JA Bachelor of Science in Criminology students undergo OJT at Iloilo City

Twenty-seven Bachelor of Science in Criminology (BS CRIM) graduating students from John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo), Inc. were deployed at Iloilo City Police Stations 1 and 4 for their on-the-job training (OJT) experience last September 2, 2024.

From the class, 14 are currently stationed in Iloilo City Police Station 1, found at General Luna Street, Iloilo City Proper, and the other 13 interns in Iloilo City Police Station 4, located at Jocson Street, Molo.

During their duty, starting from Monday to Wednesday every week, 0800H to 1700H, the interns are given an Assigned Area of Responsibility (AAR) where they observe and follow instructions.

Some of the highlights of the training included patrol duty, where the interns roamed their district along with police officers.

"It is a meaningful experience and an eye opener regarding the duties and responsibilities of the station," one of the interns told the Dolphin about the essence of their OJT.

Office work is also one of the main tasks handled by the interns, especially when stationed at the admin office or desk where they cater and create police blotter reports.

"First hand experience gid kung ano ang ubra sang isa ka police officer, so before ka mag ubra may idea ka na kung ano ang gakalatabo kag kung ano ang patakaran sa sulod kang police station," another intern added.

In addition, they are scheduled at their respective police stations until December 15 to accumulate 270 hours of duty.
