Eight students from John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo), Inc., secured various awards in the 62nd National Rizal Youth Leadership Institute (NRYLI) held in Teachers Camp, Baguio City from December 5-9, 2024.
The prestigious event chose Mdpn. Jeson Madronero Jr., as one of the Top 15 Jose Rizal Model Students of the Philippines awardees.
While Mdpn. Jhonard Quirino, Editor-in-Chief of this publication, emerged as champion in the Feature Writing (Filipino) category.
Likewise, Midshipmen Kyle Martin Biluan, Gabrielle Adrian Evangelista, and Prince Ezekiel Moreira's group were champions in the Makabayang Sayawitan competition.
On the other hand, Mdpwn. Jexine Ysabelle Hibionada's team was hailed as third placers. Meanwhile, Mdpwn. Jhona Ceballos and Mdpn. Ram Angelo Escander's group stood as finalists in the same category.
Spearheaded by 2/M Karl Danielle Sira, participants of this university were composed of students coming from the Student Executive Council and The Dolphin publication.
Themed "Rizalian LeaderSHIFT", the leadership event catered 700 delegates: youth leaders, journalists, and council members, from 84 institutions across the country.
