In what seems to be an ordinary Saturday, Stolt-Nielsen Philippines Inc. together with JCI Subic Lambat, Slash Zero, and JCI Regatta geared up and sailed to Sitio Danao-danao, Concepcion, Iloilo with a goal to bring hope and opportunities for the education of the youth last March 8.
They handed out school bags and necessary supplies to the sitio's child development center as well as a motor banca to help students cross the island waters and travel to school safely.
"Since the first boat was successfully executed, we were given a second chance by Stolt to donate another one," Joey Infante, President of JCI Regatta, stated, referring to the first Boats to School Project they conducted last year.
The Boats to School Project is an initiative of Stolt wherein boats are being donated to transport local children to school on the islands and serve as an emergency transport vessel when needed.
Moreover, eight Stolt cadets from John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University were requested with four of them from Arevalo, namely: Midshipmen Rigel Myrj Peollo, Christian Fabela, Anjo Davila, and Ronan Treyes.
The event was graced by John Michael P. Aรฑes, the 2019 LO President of JCI Regatta who headed the "informative session on family planning," and Iana Frances V. Gatpatan, the 2025 Board of Director for Community Impact who opened a plenary session about women rights.
This activity showcased Stolt-Nielsen's commitment to making a positive impact not only on the environment but also to society.
