The John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo), Inc. (JBLFMU-A) presented a paper at the World Research and Innovation Festival 2025—International Conference for Education and Social Sciences (WRIF-ICESS); the conference was held online on February 27, 2025.

The event, organized by the West Visayas State University under the theme "Transforming Education for a Sustainable Future: Innovation, Equity, and Citizenship," showcased the exchange of shared experiences and top-grade research from numerous institutions globally.

BSMT III students of JBLFMU-A bagged the Best Paper Award with the research paper entitled "Level of Effectiveness of RADAR/ARPA on the Student's Skills Enhancement and Decision-Making Proficiency in Collision Avoidance", authored by Midshipmen Benjie A. Alin, Bon Krian S. Ape, Godfre M. Anaud, Ken Georni R. Benavente, Christian Jade B. Nograles, Gene Francis G. Ledonio, Jeremy Kurl Q. Rubin, and Rhyzmeal I. Sasana under their distinguished thesis adviser Dr. Brian Gil S. Sarinas, OIC Director, Research & Development and Community Extension Services.

With the guidance of their panel members, namely 2/M Aldin Turija, Mrs. Ma. Elena Francisco, and also Engr. Roderick Germo, Ph.D., Unit Research Coordinator who spearheaded sending the delegates to WRIF.

The success of these students at WRIF-ICESS 2025 underscores the institution's commitment to maritime education and high-quality research.
