John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo) Inc. (JBLFMU-A) conducted an In-House Research Capability Training and Workshop last October 17 at the JBL Hall, with Dr. Roderick R. Germo, OIC-Research Coordinator, spearheading the event.
Faculty members, student researchers, and institutional leaders gathered for a day-long program to enhance the research competence of the university.
The program began with a lecture from Dr. Felipe P. Vista IV, University Director for R&D Services, Northern Iloilo State University, where he discussed the intricacies of Qualitative Research.
Engr. Sammy V. Militante, Director of the Statistical and Knowledge Management Center, University of Antique, followed through, tackling the topics about Quantitative Research and Creative Works.
Lastly, Dr. Erwin P. Pedroso, Associate Dean, College of Education-Graduate School, West Visayas State University, addressed the importance of innovation in research.
Two break-out sessions were facilitated, where students presented their research proposals and had an open forum with the speakers.
This research program aligns with the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs): SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
