John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo), Inc., through the Community Extension Services Society, carried out its environmental immersion activities last October 17, 2025, at JBLFMU Puerto del Mar, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras.
Thirty-four participants composed of faculty members, staff, alumni, and various organizations, engaged in an array of activities including the familiarization and monitoring of the Eco-Park, clearing and planting of ornamental plants in the butterfly habitat, mangrove bagging and planting, and a coastal clean-up drive.
In addition, a seminar dubbed "Vision, Mission, and IntegrityโPerseverance, Loyalty, Excellence, Discipline, Godliness, and Equity," known as "I-PLEDGE & The Healing Effect of Nature," was also organized as part of the event, emphasizing the universityโs commitment to sustainable practices, promoting environmental awareness, and encouraging community involvement.
This initiative supports the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs): SDG 13: Climate Action, SDG 14: Life Below Water, SDG 15: Life on Land, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
