The program aimed to raise awareness and equip young people with appropriate ways to respond to mental health concerns and support suicide prevention.

John B. Lacson Colleges FoundationโBacolod, Inc. (JBLCF-Bacolod) sent delegates from various student organizations, including the Supreme Student Government, Red Cross, and PEER Facilitating Program, alongside representatives from other participating schools. The JBLCF-Bacolod participants were accompanied by Mr. Livgreen Toreรฑa, Guidance Associate, who provided guidance and support throughout the activity.
The seminar introduced the Four Ls of Suicide Awareness and Prevention, presented by resource speaker Ms. Yanglee Magallanes:
- LOOK โ Looking out for ourselves and others.
- LISTEN โ Practicing attunement through empathetic and attentive listening.
- LINK โ Encouraging individuals to seek help and connecting them with appropriate professionals and support systems.
- LEAD โ Taking action to promote mental health awareness and help break the stigma surrounding conversations about suicide.
The program provided students with an avenue to exchange ideas and explore ways to promote awareness and build supportive environments within their respective institutions and communities.
As shared by one of the JBLCF-Bacolod delegates, โSeeking help is not a sign of weakness, but of courage and strength.โ
Let us continue to look out for one another, listen with empathy, link people to proper support, and lead with compassionโhelping create spaces where meaningful conversations can take place without judgment or barriers.
