JBLFMU-M hailed Champion at ASEAN Creators: Digital Storytelling Competition


John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Molo), Inc. emerged as champion in the ASEAN Creators: Digital Storytelling Competition during the CHED Region VI ASEAN Horizons 2026.
The competition was held and awarded at the ISAT University Multipurpose Education Center as part of the event themed “Academic and Cultural Competitions.”

The winning digital story was produced with the support of JBLFMU-M and its official school publication, The Seagull. Mdpwn. Lorenz Hope Legada wrote the script and directed the production, while Mdpn. Josue Patric Cardinal handled the cinematography and editing. Mdpwn. Saraih Villanueva and Mdpwn. Venice Kyla Gandecila also assisted in the process, with Dr. Louise May Lim serving as the team’s coach and mentor throughout the project.

Special thanks are extended to Carlos Manuel Mañas for sharing the Thailand video clips that contributed to the story’s visual narrative, and to Juvylyn Oquendo for providing food.
The entry featured the ASEAN journey of Mdpn. Paul Jedrick Villanueva in Thailand, highlighting his experiences, achievements, and journey across borders through digital storytelling, with Dr. Elsie Gancia serving as his coach, offering support that shaped the experiences featured in the story.

The entry highlights the creativity, dedication, and storytelling skills of Lacsonians, demonstrating the university’s ability to showcase student talent beyond the classroom and through the digital medium.
