Today, coinciding with the commemoration of Graciano Lopez Jaena Day, the second Joint Advanced English Class showcased a remarkable display of international collaboration. This engaging 100-minute session brought together students from Osaka Seikei University's Faculty of Global Tourism and Management and JBLFMU-Molo, focusing on the captivating topic of space tourism. Utilizing a problem-based learning framework, students were encouraged to explore diverse perspectives on this fascinating subject, fostering a rich environment for discussion and discovery.

Students began by analyzing diverse viewpoints on space tourism, particularly those from Japan and the Philippines, considering cultural, economic, and environmental factors. This initial exploration facilitated rich discussions, with participants expressing their excitement about the potential of space tourism.
As the dialogue progressed, students emphasized the need for inclusive conversations about the implications of space tourism, particularly regarding global inequalities and sustainability, highlighting ethical considerations in commercializing space exploration.

The highlight of the session was a collaborative problem-solving activity where students proposed innovative solutions to address the challenges and opportunities of space tourism. By ensuring that the voices of both Filipino and Japanese students were included, they fostered a sense of shared responsibility for suggesting equitable access and opportunities to space travel. As the class concluded, both universities expressed enthusiasm for ongoing cooperation, recognizing the potential impact of these discussions on the future of space tourism and global citizenship.

The 2nd Joint Advance English Class between the two universities was moderated by Dr. Joseph Ring, Deputy Director of OSU's English Education Center, Dr. Louise May Lim, International Relations Coordinator of JBLFMU-Molo, and 3/E Allan E. Roberto, CME faculty.
