Universities strengthen partnership for MIL National Conference 2025


The signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the MIL National Conference 2025 marked a collaboration among the Polytechnic University of the Philippines’ College of Communication, Trinity University of Asia’s Media and Communication Department, and John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University’s Molo and Arevalo campuses, October 16.


Engr. Roberto Neal Sobrejuanite, JBLFMU-Molo administrator, highlighted the need to strengthen media and information literacy campaigns, encouraging responsible creation and sharing of information in navigating the contemporary media.

In his message, Mr. Robert O. Parcia, JBLFMU-Arevalo administrator, emphasized the lasting importance of human connections amid digital innovation, noting that media and information literacy remains vital in fostering genuine interaction.

Dr. Jose Reuben Alagaran II, Dean of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines’ College of Communication, talked about the ethical responsibility of verifying and sharing accurate information in today’s media-saturated society.

Meanwhile, Dr. Walter Yudelmo of Trinity University of Asia underscored that promoting media and information literacy is a ‘shared duty’ in an era where communication and feedback travel almost instantly, and be mindful not to fall in media traps.

Dr. Elsie F. Gancia of JBLFMU-Molo is the co-convenor of the MIL National Conference 2025 which will take place on November 7–8 at the JBL Hall, JBLFMU-Arevalo.
