With the theme “Disruptive Technologies and Innovations Towards Sustainable Maritime Practices,” the event gathered maritime institutions from around the world to discuss developments in education, technology, and sustainability.


Representing JBLFMU were Capt. Luis G. Evidente, Ph.D. (Board Member); C/M Virmari Tan, Ph.D. (Internationalization Director); 2/M Loren Steve Glumalid; Dr. Victor Ruperto Jaleco; and Mdpn. Andreu Ben Peñaflor.
During the conference, Dr. Victor Ruperto Jaleco of JBLFMU-Molo presented the study titled "Automated Marine Sewage Treatment Plant (MSTP) Using Ultraviolet Lights for Domestic Ships in the Philippines," co-authored with Dr. Rolando Alimen, Dr. Ernie Jay Teves, Dr. Agustin Bedia, 3/E Allan Roberto, and 3/E Nerios Cortejo. Additionally, Mdpn. Peñaflor presented the research study “Maritime Students’ Coping Mechanisms Towards Online Learning,” authored by Palomo et al. (2023), with Dr. Roland John Cyril Emague serving as the research adviser.
The delegates joined workshops, technical tours, and discussions that highlighted the university’s continuing efforts in promoting innovation and sustainable practices in maritime education.
