JBLFMU once again proved its steadfast commitment to environmental protection as it received a Certificate of Appreciation from DENR–PENRO Guimaras. The recognition was awarded for the University’s active partnership in the Coastal and Marine Ecosystem Management Program (CMEMP) Year-End Assessment, where it proudly represented the Igang Bay Marine Sanctuary (IBMS) and its Biodiversity-Friendly Enterprise (BDFE) beneficiaries.
During the assessment, the IBMS initiative stood out among various community-based conservation projects across the province. Its sustainable practices, community involvement, and measurable impact earned it First Prize and the distinction of Best Implementer of BDFE Projects in Guimaras.
The award affirmed the collaborative spirit between JBLFMU, local stakeholders, and environmental partners—highlighting how shared efforts can create meaningful, lasting change. More than a recognition, it served as motivation for the University to continue championing programs that protect marine ecosystems and uplift the communities that depend on them.
