JBLFMU’s commitment to environmental protection once again shone brightly as it received a Certificate of Recognition from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)–PENRO Guimaras. The award celebrated the University’s unwavering dedication to programs that safeguard and restore the natural treasures of the province.
Among its notable efforts is the Padyak Series: A Fun Ride for a Cause, a cycling movement that brings communities together to promote eco-awareness and raise support for conservation initiatives. JBLFMU also spearheaded the Expansion and Sustainable Management of the Igang Bay Marine Sanctuary, strengthening the protection of one of Guimaras’ most vital marine ecosystems.
Further solidifying its role as an environmental leader, the University became an official partner in the institutionalization of the Guimaras Alliance of Protected Areas and Sanctuaries (GAPAS), a collaborative network dedicated to long-term ecological stewardship.
The recognition affirms JBLFMU’s growing legacy as a champion of sustainability.
