On January 17, 2025, the Senior High School Department of John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University – Arevalo (JBLFMU-A) conducted Project Hugpong in Puerto Del Mar, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras, taking bold steps toward holistic education.
The initiative leveraged diverse skills across subject competencies through authentic performance tasks, providing students with immersive, hands-on learning experiences beyond traditional classroom settings. By integrating practical application with collaborative engagement, Project Hugpong aims to broaden perspectives, cultivate critical thinking, and nurture well-rounded learners prepared for real-world challenges.
This pioneering approach aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4, promoting inclusive, equitable, and quality education. The project exemplifies JBLFMU-A’s commitment to innovative teaching methodologies that foster creativity, collaboration, and lifelong learning.
