The Community Extension Student Organization (CESO), together with the JBLCF-B Alumni Association and the Basic Education Department (BED), proudly participated in HUMANITREE 0.2: Cultivating Coastal Harmony on July 18, 2026β€”a meaningful mangrove planting initiative that united volunteers, partner organizations, and educational institutions in a shared commitment to protecting and restoring our coastal ecosystems.

This successful environmental activity was conducted in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross – Negros Occidental Bacolod City Chapter and the Bacolod City Water District, alongside various student organizations and participating schools, all working together to promote environmental sustainability, climate resilience, and community engagement.

Through the planting of mangrove seedlings, participants contributed to the conservation of biodiversity, the protection of coastal communities from erosion and storm surges, and the restoration of vital marine habitats. More importantly, the activity highlighted the power of volunteerism and collective action in creating lasting, positive change for both people and the environment.

This initiative directly supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:

🌍 SDG 13 – Climate Action: Strengthening resilience against climate change through mangrove restoration and carbon sequestration.

🌊 SDG 14 – Life Below Water: Conserving and restoring coastal and marine ecosystems that support aquatic biodiversity.

🌱 SDG 15 – Life on Land: Protecting natural habitats and promoting sustainable ecosystem management.

🀝 SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals: Fostering collaboration among educational institutions, government agencies, non-government organizations, and community volunteers to achieve sustainable development.

The Community Extension Student Organization extends its heartfelt gratitude to all our partners, volunteers, participating schools, and everyone who generously dedicated their time, effort, and passion to make this initiative a success. Your commitment continues to inspire environmental stewardship and community responsibility.

Together, we planted more than mangrovesβ€”we planted hope, strengthened partnerships, and cultivated a shared responsibility to protect our environment for present and future generations.

🌱 One Community. One Purpose. One Greener Future. 🌎
