  • JBLCF–Bacolod proudly joined the First PGNO Pollution Control Officers (PCO) Convention held on October 28, 2025, at the Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City. The event gathered PCOs from across the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental to strengthen environmental governance and reinforce commitment to sustainable practices.

Representing JBLCF–Bacolod was our dedicated Pollution Control Officer, Ms. Amabel Subong, also the event guest speaker, whose presence underscores the school’s strong advocacy for compliance with environmental laws, proper waste management, and responsible school operations. Her participation reflects the institution’s continuous effort to support initiatives that promote environmental protection within Negros Occidental.

The convention, supported by Governor Bong Lacson and Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, highlighted the crucial role of PCOs in ensuring that hospitals, offices, schools, and other facilities operate in accordance with environmental regulations. Strengthening the capacities of PCOs contributes significantly to maintaining safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible institutions.

Pollution Control Officers like Ms. Subong are at the forefront of monitoring compliance, overseeing environmental permits, and ensuring the proper handling and disposal of waste materials, including hazardous wastes requiring specialized treatment by DENR-accredited haulers and facilities.

JBLCF–Bacolod reaffirms its commitment to environmental accountability, public health protection, and the preservation of natural resources. Through the work of PCOs and partners in the province, we continue to move toward a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future.
