THE DONNING OF SHOULDER BOARD ACTIVITY

On summer-white uniform and shiny paraphernalia, John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo), Inc. officially welcomed October during the Doning of Shoulder Boards.

This longstanding tradition marks the symbolic initiation of students into the university, emphasizing their commitment to the institution and its values.

In its 75th year as the first maritime university in the country, the system once again proved its excellence as 771 first-year students salutes in their respective collar anchor pins, class pins, name cloths and shoulder boards.

"I am a true-blooded Lacsonian." These words of affirmation echoed inside the walls of JBLFMU-A as flashbacks from three days ago were remembered. Bruised arms, swollen legs and tear-eyed smiles were evident enough to prove the Vanguards' perseverance throughout the duration of the Community Service and Inception Day (CSID) 2023.

Moreover, the event, attended by students, faculty, and staff, featured a colorful display of university pride as students donned their distinctive shoulder boards and explained the symbol of uniform and the different paraphernalia which is considered as a tangible emblem of their affiliation within John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo), Inc.
