REPRESENTATIVES FROM “K” LINE MARITIME ACADEMY PHILIPPINES VISIT JBLFMU’S TRAINING SHIP FOR EDUCATIONAL MONITORING

As part of its commitment to monitor and ensure the quality of education and training of its cadets, "K" Line Maritime Academy Philippines recently paid a visit to the training ship of John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University.

M/V Capt. John B. Lacson, a vessel spanning 71.92 meters and managed by JBL Maritime Vanguard Services, Inc., welcomed C/E Hiroyuki Inui, Capt Hiroaki Uba, Capt Edgardo Baratang, Engr.Mark Anthony Mesina, and Mr Pablito Emboltorio last January 30.

"This training ship of JBLFMU provides opportunities and hopes for the students to equip them with skills needed to pursue careers as seafarers," Capt. Jonathan Villaflor, the master of the training ship, said while touring the representatives.

The visit included an introduction to the ship's various departments, from deck to engine.

Furthermore, JBL Maritime Vanguard Services, Inc. highlighted that the training ship stands as the first of its kind in the Philippines. Initially a 30-year-old cargo vessel located in Bataan province, it underwent extensive enhancements.

In an interview with Panay News, JBL Maritime Vanguard Services, Inc. chairman Captain Vicente Fedelicio revealed that the one-year upgrade of the ship amounted to P230 million.
