The Marine Sewage Treatment Plant (MSTP), an research and development (R&D) project implemented by John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University-Molo (JBLFMU-Molo) is set to complete its project duration on March 2024.
This project aims to develop a sewage treatment system for domestic maritime vessels, with an improved treatment process preventing harmful effects on the surrounding waters. One of the goals of JBLFMU-Molo is to make this design effective to be used for standardization of the sewage treatment process onboard.
The project is funded by the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD) under the Regional Research Institution (RRI) Program. The secretariats of the Western Visayas Consortium for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (WVCIEERD) visited JBLFMU-Molo to monitor the status of the project.
