John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University, in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Regional Office VI, officially signed the Memorandum of Agreement for Project DAGAT (Driving Advancement, Generating Access, and Transforming Small Island Communities), a National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Innovation Grant Project at JBLFMU-Molo, March 7.

Project DAGAT aims to establish water desalination on Unisan Island in Nueva Valencia, Guimaras, to drive technological advancements within the selected community.


The MOA signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Ronald Reymond L. Sebastian and Mr. Robert O. Parcia, along with representatives from the Department of Science and Technology Region VI, including Engr. Rowen R. Gelonga, Regional Director and Engr. Naomi Cossette R. Luis, Assistant Regional Director for Technical Operations.


Initiated by the faculty and staff of JBLFMU-Molo, Project DAGAT represents a significant endeavor toward sustainable development in the region.
