The 59th Iloilo Private Schools Athletic Association (ILOPRISAA) opening ceremony kicked off today at John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University-Molo covered court, February 26.
Dr. Ronald Raymond Lacson Sebastian, CEO of JBLFMU and chairman of ILOPRISAA, officially opened the games in a ceremony with distinguished guests from different schools and universities of Iloilo City.

In his opening speech, Dr. Sebastian highlighted that, "For three consecutive years, we have emerged stronger and more determined than ever."

Dr. Sebastian acknowledged the difficulties brought on by the pandemic, but emphasized that ILOPRISAA's nearly six decades of existence have instilled resilience, and the organization has emerged even more determined to succeed.

The ceremony was further enriched by the presence of Miss Universe Philippines - Iloilo 2024, Alexie Caimoso Brooks, a heptathlon star and beauty queen. She delivered an inspirational message, urging athletes to push through their fears and compete to their full potential.

Around 2,000 athletes from 30 member schools will be participating.
The goal of the said competition is to develop their skills not just in sports, but also in academics, social interaction, and mental well-being.

The 59th ILOPRISAA, running for two weeks under the theme "Steadfast in Advancing and Sustaining Grassroots Sports Development for Excellence," focuses on nurturing well-rounded student athletes.
